Out and About this Autumn

A slight chill is in the air, the nights are longer, the days are growing shorter, and pumpkin spiced lattes are back in Starbucks everywhere - Autumn is officially here. But that is no need to hide under the blankets with the heating turned up. Let's get outdoors.
Autumn is a particularly stunning season, with a range of beautiful colours and vibrant celebrations along the way. Whether you're looking to simply enjoy the scenery, or stay active before the wintery weather sets in, there are plenty of activities to take part in.
Wandering and walking:
You may complain its cold at first, but a brisk walk will do you the world of good. A nice stroll, fresh air, and surrounding sights of nature are ideal for a bright autumn day. Top tip- the Cotswolds is a particularly popular area in autumn!
One for the kids:
Why not benefit the wildlife whilst enjoying some time with the kids? A great way to spend an autumn day is to make home for nature. Making bird boxes, hedgehog houses, etc is an exciting education for children.
Not just for bonfire night:
Fireworks are just that- not just for bonfire night. Get the family around, get a fire going, and have a party together. Plus, get some autumn treats flowing- pumpkin pie and toffee apples are guaranteed to please.
Dive into history:
We are very lucky to have so many historic houses in beautiful condition in the UK, so why not explore them? Often with stunning gardens as well as charming properties, famous sites such as Chatsworth House, Blenheim Palace, and Bletchley Park are beautiful at this time of year.
