When In Cardiff

Here at Great Little Breaks, we love what the UK has to offer, that's why we have breaks all over the country! We are very lucky in Britain to have so much to explore, from the hustle and bustle of city-scapes, to the rolling hills of rural areas, so we want to share with you some of our favourite UK destinations.

Wales Millennium Centre:

Opened in 2004, the Wales Millennium Centre has already gained a reputation as one of the world's most iconic arts and cultural destinations, with various theatre, opera, and musical performances taking place all year round. With its incredible exterior- as featured in TVs 'Torchwood' and 'Dr Who'- and additional facilities, you don't have to be here to see a show to experience the best of this incredible venue.

Cardiff Bay:

Standing as Europe's largest waterfront development, Cardiff Bay has pride of place on the city's skyline. There's so much to do around this popular Welsh area, with varied attractions entertainment and events, and vibrant shops, bars and restaurants that create a truly unique atmosphere. But, if you're not looking for a lively day out, a peaceful stroll will provide you with fantastic view across the bay.

Cardiff Castle:

This medieval castle and Victorian Gothic Mansion located in the centre of Cardiff offers a fantastic day out for couples and family alike. Explore over 2000 years of history throughout the various areas of the site, from the Roman Fort to the Norman Castle. This stunning site not only provides visitors with the chance to view outstanding architecture, but the surrounding grounds are the ideal place to sit back and relax and soak up the sun.

Castle is open to the public 9am - 5pm daily (March-October). Tours are available throughout the day.

National Museum Cardiff:

Discover art, natural history and geology within a busy program of exhibitions and events. The National Museum of Cardiff has something for everyone, whatever your interest - and admission is free! Situated in the heart of Cardiff's elegant civic centre, this museum houses a range of natural history collections, as well as major touring and temporary exhibitions.
