Posted on June 30, 2014 by Admin

Here at Great Little Breaks, we love what the UK has to offer. Whether its walks, exciting attractions, historic monuments, or popular cities, we want to highlight the 'Best of Britain'! For the next few days will be sharing with you what we think is the best of Britain.

In typical British style, many British beaches receive visitors from all over the country throughout the year, and it's no wonder when you look at what they have to offer. From the beautiful white sands of Woolacombe, to the shores of Blackpool, all beaches are there to be enjoyed!

Bournemouth Central Beaches:

Buckets and spades at the ready! Welcome to seven miles of award-winning beaches with some of the warmest sea temperatures in the UK. Whether you stroll along the pier or set up camp on a deck chair you can enjoy magnificent sea views for miles. If the suns out why not hire a beach hut for the day and take full advantage of being beside the seaside.

Sandown, Isle of Wight:

Renowned for being one of the Isle of Wight's finest beaches, this award-winning stretch offers miles of golden sands and the popular pleasure pier. Popular with surfers, families and couples alike, this beautiful beach is surrounded by charming seaside cafes, a range of delightful amusements and plenty of space for you to set up camp for the day. Plus, to top it all off, Snadown Beach holds a Blue Flag award!

Weston-super-mare, Somerset:

Grab your beach gear and head to one of the most famous beaches in Britain; Weston-super-mare offers visitors miles of white sandy beach, stunning views over the channel from the promenade, lovely coastal countryside to explore, and all of the delights of a British seaside town. With designated areas for wind and water sports and plenty of space for those who wish to lie in the sun to top up their tan, this beach is definitely the 'Best of Britain'.

Woolacombe beach, Devon:

Voted as one of Britain's best beaches, Woolacombe definitely makes it onto our list. Known as a favourite for families, couples, surfers, and sunbathers alike, this North Devon beach attracts thousands of people each year and with 3 miles of beautiful sandy shores, it's no wonder! The rolling surf brings Atlantic breakers across the ocean, the seaside town of Woolacombe offers a range of characteristic restaurants and shops, and the length of the beach means there will always be quiet spots even in the height of the summer months.

Camber Sands, East Sussex:

Known for being the only sand dunes system in East Sussex, Camber sands is a popular sandy beach in a picturesque area of Britain. With a variety of wildlife to see, and plenty of space for sunbathing, it is the perfect area for traditional beach activities. When the sea retreats at low tide, there is more than enough space for beach games like football or volley ball and, if that wasn't enough, five miles of glorious golden sands stretch out for the many visitors every year.
