The countdown continues- it's only a week until spring officially begins! The weather is beginning to get warmer, major attractions are once again opening their doors and the days are getting lighter. In fact, on the 30th March the clocks will go back by one hour, giving us even more daylight to enjoy- we might lose an hour of sleep but it'll definitely be worth it.
As usual at Great Little Breaks, we are committed to delighting you, and that includes giving our customers those great little extras. Sometimes it can be hard to find things to do on a short break, so we're here to help.
The Oxford Hotel, Wolvercote, Oxfordshire:

The modern Medio restaurant has been designed to cater for couples, families and large groups alike, and offers a relaxing ambience along with fine cuisine.
The village of Wolvercote is just 15 minutes from the centre of Oxford with plenty of transport links into the busy city. The lively village holds several events year round, including festivals, dances, art exhibitions and much more. The charming village offers much to be desired from a typical rural destination, such as small village pubs, a historic parish church, and plenty of surrounding attractions.
Less than half an hour's drive away is Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. The park exhibits over 260 different species of animals and is set within 160 acres of landscaped parkland and gardens. Cotswold Wildlife Park is the largest privately owned zoological collection in the UK. Its major exhibits include the walled garden, the woodland walk, Reptile/Bat/Insect Houses, and the tropical area. The park also hosts a restaurant as well as an adventure playground- a great attraction for all ages.
Another attraction local to the Oxford Hotel is Blenheim Palace. Blenheim Palace is a monumental country house situated in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, and is the residence of the dukes of Marlborough. It is the only non-royal non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of palace. One of England?s largest houses, the palace was built between 1705 and 1722, and was designed as a world heritage site. The palace hosts a range of events, including music events, art exhibits, antiques fairs, and kids events, and offers a range of activities for all the family. Blenheim Palace sits within more than 2000 acres of beautifully landscaped park and gardens.
Only 15 minutes away from the Oxford Hotel is the University Of Oxford Botanic Gardens. The oldest Botanic Garden in Britain, they are the most compact, yet diverse collection of plants in the World right in the heart of the city centre, and open throughout the year. The main gardens are split into two sections- the walled garden and the lower garden, with scientific and ornamental collections. The glasshouse hosts various displays with a range of climatic conditions, cultivating plants from around the world. The Botanic Gardens host various events throughout the year, and guided tours are available.
Spring is on its way! All of these attractions will be open for spring and all the details are available on their websites.
