Customer Rating: Mrs Leece, Carnforth Pluses - The staff were exceptional, helpful and friendly in every way.. The food was excellent, our compliments to the chef for his innovative menu whilst still catering for those who like more basic fare. Everything prepared to a superb standard. Minus's - There was a long wait at breakfast, although when the cooked food came it was excellent. The prices at the bar were top heavy. Over £8 for a g&t is expensive and we would have drunk more had they been the same price as elsewhere. Despite it being a great deal, you don't like to feel ripped off. Don't let the negatives spoil the positives, as the positives far outweighed them.

Customer Rating: Mr Brackley, Newton Abbot A good stay - Room was a little disappointing as it had an odour to it - Paint? Also when paying the amount that we did for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast it was a little frustrating to then be charged a "service charge" of 10% of the cost of the evening meal automatically. Good service should and will be rewarded by the customer not taken by the establishment.

Customer Rating: Mr Jones, CAERPHILLY We book these hotels with you according to their location and facilities, so were disappointed to find no fitness-room. We did enjoy the walks along the canal to Stroud but wish they would update their website facilities and not disappoint customers.

Customer Rating: Mrs Badham, Southampton The receptionist wasn't particularly welcoming. The morning staff were very accommodating and obtained a packed lunch for us in a short time. The staff generally were very friendly and helpful, especially some of the waitresses who were delightful. It is a beautiful hotel in a lovely setting.

Customer Rating: Mr Taylor, Diss Room with a walk in shower as requested. The layout of the shower room/toilet was very poor, with no light over the wash basin and no surface adjacent to the basin to rest any items being used.

Customer Rating: Mrs Salmon, Ashford Our bedroom and bathroom were a little tired - clean but in need of a refurbish, the bathroom is definitely in need of bringing up to date. But the staff, food and service was first class. The building itself is very attractive and the location was excellent for touring around the area and the added bonus of the garden leading directly onto the tow path with some nice walks was really nice.

Customer Rating: Mr Downes, London

Customer Rating: Mr Berry, Cheadle

Customer Rating: Mr Holder, Swindon Everything at this hotel was excellent. The room and the view was far more than we expected. we look forward to making another visit.

Customer Rating: Mrs Matthews, Horsham Overall the break was very good and the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent although the service was very slow. The continental breakfast could have been better with more choice of cereals and some rolls to go with the ham and cheese. The cooked breakfast could not be faulted. The room was comfortable but was down a few corridors and several flights of stairs so could have been a problem if you had any mobility problems. I would have liked to see the receptionist smile!
