Customer Rating: Mrs Peacock, Skegness Found the restaurant menu rather limited for dinner the breakfast menu was excellent. The hotel is a little off the beaten track but the gardens and view exceptional and will definitely book again.

Customer Rating: Mrs Scaife, Preston The price we paid was very good value. The gardens surrounding the hotel were beautiful and very well maintained and the views were stunning.

Customer Rating: Miss Taylor, Bolton Lovely staff, great location but really needs an update. Fantastic large hotel but very tired

Customer Rating: Mr hewitson, NEWTON AYCLIFFE Lovely friendly staff, good food, recommended

Customer Rating: Mr Rider, Rugeley We were given a room on arrival and unpacked. A little later, knowing that there was a room upgrade with a room view, I enquired at reception as to what a standard room was like. The gentleman on the desk was helpful and offered the keys to another room which took advantage of the splendid views to the front of the hotel. We were pleased with the second room and views but it meant moving our belongings. Apart from the above, the hotel and staff were good and the views from the room were more than good. A most enjoyable stay and would definitely visit again if there is a similar offer available.

Customer Rating: Mrs Ward, Pudsey The hotel in places needs updating (which I believe is happening) but all in all it was very good value for money - other residents were paying a lot more than us and we got discounted meals, late check out and a bottle of wine!!

Customer Rating: Mrs Williamson, Wirral The rooms view was of the roof of the bar. We had £8 allowance for pre-dinner drinks. We ordered large gin and Tonics but were told we couldn't have doubles so £3.10 of the allowance was unused. The food was good. It was an excellent base for exploring the countryside and the Roman history
