"Broadening the impact of DELIGHT values we hold dear"
I am all too aware that no organisation operates in isolation. Indeed, our business prides itself on the relationships it builds, and interaction it has, with employees, customers, suppliers and stakeholders. Each year we produce a plan to manage these relationships to produce an overall positive impact on society, whilst adding value to the business and those involved with it.
I have always believed that the staff are key to our success and have invested in our staff and our delight principles over the years. I was delighted that we attained a Silver Award for Investors in People and are continuing to work with our team with a Gold Award as our next target.
We will continue to invest in the community extending our Apprenticeship initiatives to cover all areas of the business.
We are also continuing to encourage the development of the next generation through our support of Young Enterprise and the Princes Trust.
In terms of charity fund raising and support of local charities we are delighted to continue to champion Herefordshire based Little Princess Trust, a charity who provide real hair wigs for children.
We constantly strive to embrace new technology to minimise the impact of our business on the environment with, for example, the increasing use of video and telephone conference solutions to reduce unnecessary travel and carbon emissions.
When I began the business, it was based on a promise to delight our customers - not an idle boast since 98% of customers say they would recommend and use the company’s services again. In 2019 we will be continuing to undertake further work to ensure that we are providing what our customers want and delivering a delightful, hassle-free experience across all our brands and business units.
Alongside this year’s activity we will be working with our stakeholders to develop our plans for the next five years and I look forward to hearing all the views.
