Customer Rating: Mrs Marshall, Trowbridge

Customer Rating: Mr Russell, Bolton Very limited menu, the only reason I wouldn't go again, everything else was perfect

Customer Rating: Mrs Melville, Edinburgh Excellent dinners - great chef

Customer Rating: Mrs Barker, Ellesmere Port We had a lovely stay, our room was clean and comfortable but the window was draughty and overlooking a main road. The curtains didn't quite meet so it took some ingenuity to keep them closed! We managed. The breakfast menu has plenty of choice, I ordered eggs Benedict and had it both days, however my husband ordered the full cooked breakfast and wasn't very impressed so had a delicious bacon sandwich the next day. Good coffee. The evening meal on the first night was delicious and we enjoyed excellent service but something went wrong the second night and upon asking our waitress if it was the same chef, the reply was everyone is asking that. Overall we enjoyed our stay and it has to be said they have really lovely staff in all departments.

Customer Rating: Mr Brook, Elland The hotel was a little bit further away than we expected

Customer Rating: Dr Hearn, Bolton None of the local ale sadly so only Worthington's or Carling available with the deal. But charming helpful staff and decent food.

Customer Rating: Ms Burns, Jarrow

Customer Rating: Mr Morgan, Sidcup Upon arrival, we were informed that our room was not ready, was up 2 flights of stairs and we could not be upgraded to a nicer room. We were then offered an upgrade for an additional fee of £20 per night, which we declined. An hour later, we were offered a downstairs room for no additional fee. Staff were generally friendly. The food was good, ,although the menu could have been changed a bit more as we were staying for 4 evening meals. Our lunchtime sandwiches had no butter both times we ordered them. The waiting staff were very disorganised throughout our stay. Whilst well meaning, they forgot requests, with long delays to take our order and on one night, even forgot to bring our desserts completely until reminded twice. This all seemed to be highly amusing to them. It seemed that they had nobody leading or managing them and so the service was often haphazard. The hotel itself was rather faded and decor was dated and tired, although the cleaning staff were efficient.

Customer Rating: Mrs Raven, Stockport Staff and accommodation were both excellent. Service in the restaurant could have been improved. We waited 45 minutes for our main course on the second night. The hotel had a function on in another room and unfortunately, I think the restaurant service suffered for this. Very, very dog friendly, Grounds and gardens were beautiful.

Customer Rating: Mrs Mcleod, Studley Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Lovely gardens.
