After 70 years of service, Queen Elizabeth II will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. All around the country, preparations are underway to celebrate this momentous achievement.

Friday 3 June: Join Reverend Scott for ‘Pimms and Hymns’ for a Thanksgiving Service where they will be looking back on the Queen’s 70 year reign and her association with the church through a fun and interactive service.

Saturday 4 June: Let your hair down and enjoy a fun ‘Party in the Park’, where the local playing field will host events throughout the day, from pageants to bake sales! Enjoy traditional fete games, live music and tempting food trucks throughout the day.

Sunday 5 June: To round off the celebrations, a friendly cricket competition will take place. Everyone is encouraged to bring a table and watch the final, with the Queen’s Pageant also being aired on the screen.

For all fitness enthuasiasts or anyone simply looking for a challenge, test yourself with Portsmouth’s Platinum Jubilee 70k Ultra Challenges ! Have the chance to receive your own medal and celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee a little differently.

There is something for all runners. You can enter and run up to 70k on the day or just do one lap and complete 24k.

If you are more of a multi-sport triathlete, then the ‘Kayak, Run, Cycle’ is your choice for the day, involving a 5k kayak to get you warmed up, followed by a 20k run and a 45k cycle.
